Ironing is one of the most time-consuming cleaning tasks on our to-do lists, and something many of us do everything we can to avoid.

But thanks to a clever hack, ironing just got a little quicker and easier to complete.

The trick comes from interior design enthusiast Trina, who shares photos and updates about her glamorous farmhouse on her Instagram account Life as Mrs Builder.

IN a scroll posted on her Instagram accountTrina revealed that she covers her ironing board with foil, shiny side up, before ironing.

“The tin foil reflects the heat and acts like a second iron, allowing you to iron twice as fast,” said the caption in the video.

The hack was a hit with Trina’s followers, and the wheel has gone viral with 2.5 million views so far.

“This is amazing, I’m going to try it,” one woman commented.

“Wow! Going to try this today! As someone who still irons… Thanks for the suggestion!” a follower posted.

“Thanks so much for this tip! I tried it tonight and couldn’t believe the difference, game changer!!!” said another.

The comments section of the video also had some other ironing tips. A viewer revealed that there are foil-backed ironing board covers available, which would save the waste of using foil sheets.

Another follower suggested a steam iron as a way to reduce ironing time.

If you really hate ironing, there are plenty of other hacks to speed it up or avoid the process altogether.

A very simple tip is to hang the clothes up straight away, instead of taking them off the line and leaving them in a basket to fold later. Some people even put their wet clothes on the hanger to air dry on the line, which also helps avoid creases.

If you have a dryer and need an item of clothing quickly, try tossing the item in the dryer with some ice cubes on a high setting for five minutes. This is a popular hack to get creases and wrinkles out quickly with little effort.
