Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition rewards not showing up? Here’s what to do

Some players have reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition rewards do not appear in their games. The Vault Edition of MW2 was an additional $30 add-on to the $70 base game, which included the season one battle pass, 50 tier jumps, four operator skins, and more.
For those who paid the fee to have these extra features in the game, not having them when you start the game can be frustrating. Especially when the Vault Edition gives players an early enhanced edition of the FJX Cinder assault rifle. Fear not, there are solutions to why these rewards aren’t showing up yet.
Here are potential solutions to receive the Vault Edition rewards:
How to fix Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition rewards are not displayed
Restore licenses
The main fix for the issue, at least on PlayStation for players missing items like the Oni Operator or items from the Vault Edition, has been revealed by Infinity Ward. Follow the steps below to restore licenses on your console and hopefully find them in-game:
- Go to Settings
- Go to Users and accounts
- Go to Other
- Select Restore Licenses
New Zealand hack
New Zealand was the first country to receive the full version of MW2 which prompted players from around the world to put their Activision account locations on consoles to play the game a few hours earlier. Activision and Infinity Ward have already warned players about this hack, saying that attempts to cheat the system would result in errors and would prevent players from playing the game until it’s released in their actual location.
Still, there are some players who have managed to use the New Zealand hack to play the game early, which may be why the rewards don’t appear.
Since MW2 has not been officially released globally, players who used the hack will potentially have to wait to receive their rewards.
Restarts the console
Users on Reddit who reported having a problem with MW2 Vault Edition reported that rebooting their consoles resolved the issue. If a player hasn’t used the New Zealand hack and purchased the Vault Edition of the game, restarting the console may be appropriate. MW2 is a huge game at 130 gigabytes alone on both Xbox and PlayStation. To ensure the game runs smoothly and all rewards are unlocked, you must first restart your console.
Finally, if none of the above solutions have resolved the issue, the best solution is to wait a day or two and see if the rewards appear when the game rolls out across regions.
